a painted room

Well, I'm happy to announce that all of the painting has been completed in my master bedroom/nursery. The painters actually completed the room last Monday, and over the course of the week I managed to paint the wall for the 'nursery nook' as well as the flower that adorns said wall. I also finished up all of the crib bedding, and I have to say that I really love how it all turned out. The mural is very reminiscent of what I had painted for my friend's little girl.

Right now the only portion of the room that's complete seems to be our little nursery corner, which at the moment really only consists of a crib :) Just wanted to give you a peek!

I love the fabric. Where did you find it?

Great room! Where did you get the crib?

Thanks everyone:)

Madhavi, the yellow and white floral fabric on the outside of the crib bumper is called 'Didi, Citron' and it's from tonicliving.com. The yellow and grey polka dot fabric on the inside of the bumper, as well as the graphic floral on the crib skirt, are Amy Butler's full moon in yellow and wallflower in grey, both purchased on etsy.com.

Gray, the crib is the Gulliver crib from Ikea.

Jo-An, thanks so much! I am so impressed with what you have done. We have the Gulliver crib too. I just bought a sewing machine and am very inspired. Did you use a pattern for the bumper? Also, could you tell us how you made that crib skirt? It's not your typical skirt and I love it!

the flower mural is beautiful! is that from a stencil or free-painted?

Thanks again for all the sweet comments!

hudson, I would love to sell my bedding, buyt unfortunately with a newborn it seems next to impossible! But maybe one day...

Madhavi, I didn't use a pattern. I actually had an old plain bumper, and I just measured it and added on a half inch seam allowance all the way around. As far as the crib skirt, it's really just 4 seperate panels held im place with velcro...so no shifting when changing the crib sheets:)

~, the wall colour is Midnite Hour by CIL Dulux

S, the flower mural was painted free hand

hi - where did you get the cute milkweed pod night light???

Tiffanie, I got the nightlight from a store in Canada called Homesense, it's the US equivalent of Home Goods (they're the same company). A few months ago they had a lamp that looked identical at PBTeen, but I couldn't find it on their website. Maybe it's sold out? Anyway, the lamp itself is not a nightlight, but I just put a very low wattage bulb in it to serve our purpose.

I love it, and we still use it every night:) Good luck on your search!
