For my funny man, who helps me do the groceries and always has lots of laughs and giggles. Who's smart and kind and always so helpful and loving. I hope you have a wonderful 6th birthday! You are a great big brother and little brother too, we love you so much! xoxoxo

Happy Birthday!
Oh my...I just went through your links and my word you are soooo beyond talented! You truly are!
And you know, my husband and I have been together for 17 years too (married for almost seven). Too funny! But yes, another similarity is that we're doing the boys rooms and I am wanting to make skateboard shelves in the older boys room....any tips?
Thanks so much Julie! We created the shelves out of real skateboard decks (just the board not the wheels), and we mounted them to the wall with simple wooden shelf brakets from Ikea. Here's the link:

Since there are already holes in the deck for the trucks (what the wheels attach to on the underside) you can use these holes to attach the brackets to the skateboard.
I would suggest that if your kids aren't avid skateboarders themselves then you should look for deals on skateboards at sporting goods stores or even some vintage ones on ebay. We went to a specialty skateboard shop and purchased the deck because my hubby used to skateboard and wanted to have some input on 'authentic' items for the room.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any other tips:)
I just found your blog today. Love it sooooo cute. I adore what you did for your son (mcquueen, mater, wallee), my son would have been in heaven too.
Yes it does! Okay, seriously, so funny. My husband used to really be into skateboarding as well (and the boys have already started), so nothing but authentic will do! We have a few waiting to be used, but I think we'll have to see if we can find some that are in better condition! Thanks so much for the help.
Cheers
